GOVERNMENT APPROVED LIST OF TOURISM INVESTMENT OBJECTS FOR 2010
At today`s meeting, at the proposal of the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, the Government adopted the Decision on approving the list of tourism investment programmes and projects that will receive funding from the state budget in 2010.
The approved normative act is aimed at the sustainable development of tourism and at stimulating Romania`s transformation into a competitive tourism destination at international level, by valorising the local tourism resources.
The Government Decision relates to investment objects initiated last year (for example, continuing investments under the sub-programme "Skiing in Romania" in the counties of Covasna, Harghita, Hunedoara, Maramures and Prahova Valley, respectively - in preparation of the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF 2013, and continuing to build mini-harbours in Tulcea County), as well as and new objects (e.g. the development of tourism infrastructure in the southern seaside resorts and in spas such as Amara, Băile Felix - May 1, or the development of a tourism harbour in Oltenia).
The projects fall within the four national tourism investment sub-programmes: Skiing in Romania, Development of the tourism infrastructure in the high mountain area, Balanced and integrated development of spas, Balanced and integrated development of the Danube Delta tourism area and of the Black Sea coast tourism resorts.
The Decision regulates the co-financing from the MDRT budget of the technical documentations and of the execution works for the tourism investment programmes and investment objects, whose beneficiaries are local public authorities. The sums from the state budget are allocated to complete the own sources of the local public authorities.
The local public authorities are the organisers of the public procurement necessary to carry out the investments and are responsible for the use of the amounts received for the implementation of the respective projects.
