Newest skating rink to be inaugurated in Brasov

On Thursday, 18 February 2010, in Brasov, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Elena Udrea, will attend the inauguration of an artificial skating rink built through the National Investment Company SA (CNI).

The works for the achievement of this objective benefited from an investment of 38,692,875 lei from CNI.

The skating rink, located in the “Tractorul” Park area, meets the requirements of the International Federation of Ice Hockey, the playing surface being 60mx30m. The skating rink has locker rooms for 6 teams, first aid cabinets and doping control rooms, power gym, warm up halls. The skating rink hall has the capacity of 1700 seats, the annexes are for 150 people and the spaces for the media and VIPs are for 60 people. The stands have a capacity of 1628 seats and the access of the spectators is achieved through 12 stairs. The skating rink also has spaces for the public, which serve the function of leisure skating rink (a bar with a storage space and a serving space, rest rooms, a space for skate rental, lockers for the public).

The skating rink is part of the infrastructure necessary for the European Youth Olympic Festival - EYOF 2013 and is the first finalised sports object from the series of those needed by the event.
